HELP ALERA GROW!

ALERA Executive Consultant – Strategic Projects

The Australian Labour Employment Relations Association (ALERA) is seeking an Executive Consultant – Strategic Projects to drive the implementation of its strategic initiatives and to support elevating its national profile in the employment relations field.

About ALERA

ALERA is the national employment relations body incorporated under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 (WA). Its members are the peak industrial relations (IR) bodies within the States and Territories of Australia who provide services to their constituents in each jurisdiction. These constituents are from across the employment relations field - including government, unions, professions, regulators, academics and employers. The composition of its member base gives ALERA the potential to make a distinctive contribution to national discourse in the IR field.

The purpose of ALERA is to provide:

  • thought leadership and a national voice to foster discussion within the field of IR and shape national policy
  • nationally coordinated activity and access to information for its members and their constituents to enable them to enhance policy and practice in the field of employment relations.

ALERA was originally conceived as a member network with premium services through production of the Journal of Industrial Relations and a biennial National Conference. These activities are conducted by a volunteer National Committee comprising two persons from each Member jurisdiction.

The National Committee is the governing body of ALERA, and it meets three times a year. The National Committee has delegated the operational powers to the Executive which meets monthly and there are also several subcommittees progressing its strategic initiatives.

ALERA aims to have a strong national identity with a clear and authoritative voice in employment relations discourse. ALERA does this through adopting a structured and clear engagement process. ALERA will also provide nationally coordinated services and products to support members, with a platform to grow scale, reach and revenue.

To implement the ALERA Strategy through various initiatives, the association is seeking to work with an Executive Consultant to support the further development and implementation of its strategic plan.
